How to use the tools, what they accept, and what to do when something does not work.

Last updated 2026-10-11

Choosing the right tool

Start from the result you need:

  • An image at a specific pixel size, use the Image Resizer.
  • An image under a size cap such as 20, 50 or 100 KB, use the matching resize-to-size page.
  • Several PDFs combined into one, use Merge PDF.
  • One or more pages pulled out of a PDF, use Split PDF.
  • A passport, visa or application photo at a stated frame, use the photo tool.

Files and limits

Each tool states what it accepts before you add a file:

  • Image tools: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 25 MB.
  • PDF tools: PDF files, up to 50 MB each.
  • Passport photo: JPG or PNG, up to 25 MB, exported as a JPG.
  • Everything runs in your browser, so no files are uploaded.

Adjusting the settings

The controls are deliberately simple:

  • Image: set a maximum width and height (the aspect ratio is preserved), choose JPG, PNG or WebP, and adjust the quality slider.
  • Target-size pages: the tool reduces quality and, if needed, dimensions to get close to the target file size.
  • PDF split: choose a from/to page range and optionally rotate the output by 90°, 180° or 270°.
  • Passport photo: the frame comes from the requirement you opened, and the photo is centre-cropped to it.

Downloading your result

When processing finishes, a download button saves the result to your device. The preview stays in your browser until you start over or close the tab.

If a download does not start, check that your browser is not blocking downloads for this site, and try an up-to-date browser.

When something goes wrong

  • File not accepted: the tool only reads the formats listed above. Convert the file first if needed.
  • File too large: it exceeds the per-tool limit of 25 MB for images or 50 MB for PDFs.
  • Encrypted PDF: remove password protection before processing.
  • Target size not exact: compression works toward the target and lands close to it, but it is approximate.
  • Blank or failed result: use a modern browser with JavaScript enabled and reload the page.
