How to split a PDF and extract the pages you need
Splitting is the reverse of merging. Instead of combining documents you extract the pages you need and leave the rest behind.

Find the pages you need first
Open the PDF and note the exact page numbers. The numbers a viewer shows can differ from the numbers printed on the pages, so count from the file's own order.
If you are not certain, extract a slightly wider range first and trim it later rather than guessing too narrowly.

Extract the range
Enter the first and last page you want. The tool creates a new PDF containing only that range, in the original order.
Extracting a single page is just a range where the first and last page are the same.
- 3
Check the result
Open the new file and confirm the page count matches the range you asked for and that the pages are the right ones.
A password-protected PDF has to be unlocked before it can be split.
